A "dry run" through prior to a live fire
| Successful
completion of this course meets the training requirements for application as an
Armed Private Security Officer in Oregon. This course consists of 24 hours of
training with the first day dedicating to eight hours of classroom lecture, discussions,
case studies, and videotape examples. The student must achieve a minimum of 90%
correct answers on a written examination. The first day of class is conducted
inside the classroom facility. The second day is a continuation of the classroom
including dry fire practice and dry fire defensive handgun usage. The third day
is all live fire training and qualification. | | |  |

student must shoot a minimum marksmanship qualification score of 100% on a DPSST
approved handgun qualification course in order to graduate from the course. The
shooting portion of the course will be conducted outdoors on an "open"
training firing range. | | |  |
NOTE:
There are no shortcuts in this course. Don't
come to this class expecting to briefly skim over the materials, take an exam,
and then just shoot a qualifier. Oregon Firearms Academy administers this course
strictly in accordance to DPSST standards and rules. All students will receive
a minimum of 100% of the classroom materials and range training
as prescribed by DPSST - NO EXCEPTIONS REGARDLESS OF PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE AND/OR
TRAINING! Previous Law Enforcement, Military and/or Security training or experience
makes no difference - we will cover all the material as mandated by DPSST. NOTE
#2: We live in Oregon. As an Armed Security Professional you'll work in Oregon.
Oregon has a tendency to rain. As an Armed Security Professional you'll probably
work in the rain. So . . . you're going to train outdoors . . . Rain or shine.
Therefore, dress appropriately, as we will be training outdoors. During your training
we will give regular breaks. We also have a heated facility in order for you to
store your gear and to come in from the elements. "We aren't training

Day
1 & 2 bring: - A valid State Issued
Driver's License and DPSST Unarmed Security Card (if issued)
- Lunch,
snacks, and drinks

2 & 3 bring: - A high quality, safe,
reliable handgun in a standard defensive caliber (.380, 9mm, 38/.357, .357 Sig,
.40 S&W, .41 Mag, .45acp.) NO 22's!
NOTE: OFA does
sell ammo and we can rent guns - call on availablity! - 350
rounds of factory loaded new ammunition (no reloads!)
- Two
magazines for the semi-auto pistol or two speedloaders for revolvers. (Bring more
if you have them)
- Holster, belt, and magazine/speedloader pouch
- ANSI/OSHA approved wrap-around Safety Glasses ARE REQUIRED. Even
if you wear polycarb Prescription glasses you will be required to wear ANSI/OSHA
approved safety glasses over the top of your specticles. We sell safety glasses
in our Alumni Pro Shop
- Hearning Protection
- A hat or cap with
a bill (to protect your eyes from flying hot brass!)
- Dress
for outdoors (rain, shine, hot/cold, snow, wind etc.)
- Lunch, snacks,
and drinks.
